Designing an AI Assistant for Document-Driven Legal Workflows

At LegalWeek, we introduced an early concept for an intelligent assistant to improve how legal professionals work with large volumes of contract data. What started as a simple prototype became a practical AI tool that lets users ask questions, summarize clauses, and explore structured document grids with greater ease and visibility. In this case study, I share how I led the design from early research to implementation—turning 40+ user stories into a flexible interface supporting legal workflows. The final result is an AI experience designed for clarity and control, built to handle legal work's complex, detail-heavy nature.

Transforming Productivity: A Collaborative UX and Engineering Effort

This case study details the collaborative journey between the UX and engineering teams to transform a productivity app, originally known as Ambiant@Work, into the refined and user-centric @WorkApp. The project began with the creation of a strategic product roadmap, ensuring that each sprint delivered tangible value to users. A comprehensive rebranding effort followed, accompanied by the development of a style guide to maintain consistent branding across the app.

The team also undertook a significant architecture update, introducing a new landing page, implementing top-level navigation, and breaking down functions into micro-interactions to enhance usability. These efforts culminated in a more cohesive and intuitive user experience, reinforcing the app's value to its users.

Additionally, a prototype and sales demo were developed to gain stakeholder buy-in, guide development, and promote the app at conferences. The demo featured a real-time interaction between a mobile device and an office setting, showcasing the app’s innovative capabilities and securing its place as a leading tool in tenant experience management.
